Following college, Buffy began her career in the Home and Community Services department for Lakes Regional MHMR, where she served as a case manager for the Home and Community Services Medicaid waiver program working with intellectually and developmentally delayed individuals. Upon entering graduate school, she participated in a yearlong internship at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, learning firsthand the benefits, health care, and support services available to military veterans and their families.
Upon completing graduate school, Buffy transitioned her social work experience into her hospice career in 2013, bringing years of experience to Prominent Hospice and the patients and families she serves. In her role as Director of Hospice, she is second to the Administrator of Hospice and Palliative Care, overseeing the training and management of hospice staff, and directing the interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, chaplains, nursing aides and social workers.
In her spare time, the wife and mother of two adult daughters spends her time running with friends, being active in her church, and watching movies with her family.
A native of California, Buffy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Science in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Sam Houston State University, and a Master of Social Work from East Texas A&M University.
