The Prominent Hospice and Palliative care team offers an interdisciplinary approach that optimizes quality of life by managing symptoms in someone with a chronic or terminal illness. Both Hospice and Palliative care bring you and your family compassionate care when a cure isn’t possible.

What is hospice care?

When a physician has determined a person has less than six months to live and has decided not to continue curative treatments, they are eligible to receive hospice care to provide an additional layer of support and medical care for end-of-life preparation.
Hospice is a benefit paid 100% by Medicare and includes the following services:
  • Medical condition specific care
  • Pain and symptom management
  • Emotional support
  • Spiritual support
  • Sensory therapy
  • Music therapy
  • Bereavement care
  • Volunteer services
  • Assistance with activities of daily living
